What do you offer?
We work with children, teens, families, college-age, young women, and couples. We offer traditional talk therapy, EMDR, CBT, EFT, and some play therapy techniques. We can refer you to a psychiatrist for medication.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes, I can do telehealth with clients all over California. According to the Board clients must live in Ca and be in the state to participate.
How long do I need to be in therapy?
Therapy can last as long as you need for your goals to be met. You can also end therapy at any time. You are not committed to any length of time. For optimal result, we recommend starting with weekly sessions and then considering reducing frequency once you achieved some level of progress.

What is the difference between a Licensed vs Associate Therapist?
A licensed therapist has completed 3000 hours of supervised therapy services and passed both CA Board exams. In many cases, this therapist has been working for many years and has more experience and/or supervises newer therapists.
An associate therapist has finished their master's degree program from a reputable university but are still finishing their 3000 hour requirement with supervision from a licensed therapist. They still need to sit and pass 1 more board exam. The work an associate offers is overseen by a skilled and seasoned therapist. These therapist often are very knowledgable and eager to do good work at a reduced rate.

How does confidentiality work for my teen?
Your child will be given the same rights to confidentiality as any adult. According to the board of behavioral sciences, children hold the rights to the record, not parents. We do work the the minor to disclose high risk behavior to parents, if necessary or if the minor cannot be safe on their own. Confidentiality ensures the minor client can feel safe to share and heal in a trusted environment.

What is first session like?
The first session is our opportunity to get some basic history and learn more about your current needs and concerns. I will review the basics of therapy and expectations so you are clear on what to expect. We will ask questions to learn more about you and make sure you feel comfortable. We will set some basic goals and go deeper into goals in the second session.
